Spring Clean Your Desk

Spring is right around the corner which always makes us think of spring cleaning! Finals may be also right around the corner, which often means it feels like the right time to scrub those baseboards behind the fridge! However, while those baseboards can be important to clean, it would be best to focus on spring cleaning your study space first so you have an uncluttered, stress free environment to focus.

Clean up clutter

Yes, this one is very obvious. But all those things you can see from where you sit to study get in your head and keep you from focusing. Straighten up the immediate area so you aren't worried about the other things. Get rid of pens that aren't working, organize the office supplies,

Clean your desk

Get rid of all the dust and anything else that has found its way onto your desktop. Clean the computer screen, your keyboard, and your mouse. Sanitize your workspace so it feels clean as well as looks clean.

Organize your Files

Set a time to sit down and organize all those things that you have left to "deal with later." Clean up your email, your downloads folder, your desktop space, and any notes you have left across your desk.

Make a List

What do you have left to do this spring? Assignments, papers, and exams can be planned for ahead of time so that you feel in control of what's happening around you. Make two lists - one for studies and one for the rest of life. Prioritize your list and then start checking things off.
